About Me

My name is Chris Cater, and in 2007 I decided to take my experience, knowledge and enthusiam for piano and put it into tutoring others. I created a thriving business which I ran from my home for 13 years until mid-2020 when I relocated to a dedicated studio in Willenhall in order to expand further.

It is with this level of teaching experience, along with my qualifications that I'm able to offer high quality, enjoyable lessons that are tailored specifically to the individual in repertoire, style, and approach. I hold the Licentiate Diploma with Honours from Victoria College of Music, Grade 8 in music theory from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, and also Grade 5 Jazz Piano, the highest grade currently offered by ABRSM. In recent years I studied music composition and documentary photography, gaining a DipHE in Creative Arts.

Although the lessons at my teaching studio are all held on a one-to-one basis, I also have many years experience teaching both individuals and groups through my contracting work for other music schools. In early 2020 I was also contracted to form a children's choir as choir leader and pianist.

I hold an Enhanced DBS with Barred List certificate, and I'm fully insured in my role as a musician.
